My Music Video - What Makes Me, Me?

By watching this movie, I hope that people who don’t know me so well, and even my closest friends get to know a bit more about me. The six categories that I chose to be represented in my video were family, school, friends, nationality, and hobbies. I had the most pictures for friends. I tried to represent that I am very social and like to talk with my peers as well as people who are older or younger than me. I am very attached to my family and friends. I am a happy, social, and cheerful person. I like to be with a group of people instead of being alone. This is why in most of the photos, I am with somebody else. Instead of keeping my worries to myself, I like to confide in the people I trust. I also like to listen to other people’s troubles and help them out too. Also, I wanted to explain some things about the picture from my nationality category. I had a picture of the Korean letters and vowels. The Korean language is a part of my everyday life. It is essential. I also had a picture of two people bowing together. Respect is a very important aspect in Korean culture, especially to the people who are older than you, so I guess I’m a polite person. I also LOVE music. Music is one of my biggest passions. I like to play instruments and listen to music too. I can’t imagine movies, TV shows, and basically the whole world WITHOUT any sound or music.
I had some technical problems while making my video. First, I wasn't used to making movies on Windows Movie Maker. But as I made my video, I got the hang of things and figured everything out. Gathering all my pictures with the license was pretty simple, but VERY time - consuming. I tried my best to find pictures that would really represent who I am. However, I was able to download Freecorder 5 and use it to get my music pretty easily. Once I filled out my planning document and got all my precentages, I put up all my pictures in the order that I wanted, then put the transitions, and finally put the music. I realized that the project would take me more than just a few hourse to finish. I felt so happy and proud of myself when I was finally done. It took me several days to make it just the way I wanted it to be. I was OVERWHELMED with joy because I was finally done! I showed my video to my mom and she was pleased too. :) The file of my video was too big, so I had to reduce it to post this on blogger, which is why it might seem quite blurry. Above all, I really enjoyed doing this project because it was a new challenge for me and I learned many new things, including things about myself.

  1. From watching your music video, the things I like about it are that you really emphasized that your friends are important to who you are by using a lot of pictures and starting off with "This is Me" by Demi Lovato because it goes very well with the project topic. I also like that the end of the snip of "Friday" went well with the next category in the video. A small change you could do is use the korean anthem for your nationality and make the video bigger so it would look better.
    Good Job Jan! :)

  2. I like the part of hobbies the song matches the picture but when the song said reading you might need to put the picture in that second so it completely matches with the song. Beside that I see that your friend influence you the most and how important and fun to be around with you. The most symbolic picture you post in is in the friend part and it is your friend shadow.

    Keep up the good work!

  3. From watching your video, I learned that you are a very social person, since your 'friends' section was almost endless. But that's a good thing. The most symbolic part for me was the picture of you in your korean dress because it shows that you respect your roots and that you love your country. Being the chronic fault-seeker that I am, I rewatched your video over and over trying to find songs that were irrelevant or basically anything you did wrong. I could not find anything wrong with your video whatsoever, so my only suggestion to you is to reupload your video in better quality.
    You did a great job!

  4. Hey Jan. I loved your video, it was pretty awesome. I am not just saying that because I am one of your best friends, I seriously mean it. All your songs went along with your pictures even when you took one of your songs from one category to another it made sense. I didn't even think of doing that. I really liked how in the section about your nationality and how you made an acoustic out of the word "Korea" I also liked how you drew some of your own pictures, it was very innovative. This video didn't tell me anything new about you because I practically know everything, but it did include everything that I would say if I had to describe you. I don't think that i could find anything that you could improve about this video. I really thought this was a very creative video. I really liked it.

  5. Awesom, Jan! :D
Very nice video. I really found out more about you :) It was really smart to draw your own pictures. The music also fit very nicely. The video was small, but I assume that there was some kind of wrong export or something. Anyways, really nice video! Nothing wrong about it at all;) Oh, and, I love the Graduation song by Vitamin C(it was used in the bridge ceremony ;)) and you forgot to put in manga!! :(

  6. What a fabulous video!! I truly learned a ton about you from your picture selection and music which was extremely well done. You could tell you put a great deal of effort in selecting all of your images and how they went together. Your write up is also well done but really you could gather most of the information from your video about your personality. The only thing I wonder about is if your pictures could be bigger on the video? Great job!!
